Grand Master Pointing Retriever Frosty

In Tucson, Arizona

GMPR Frosty

Frosty was a perfect 3 for 3 in APLA passes (CPR and 2 MPR tests).

We had retired from the pointing lab breeding business, but kept 3 dogs: Mary Ann's GMPR chocolate female Shug (Dam of well known Sires Cruz and Griz) and 2 dogs from our amazing Storm.  These were 1.5XGMPR Dallas and a gifted yellow pup, Frosty,  from our best breeding ever (CPR FC Zeiss X APR Storm JH). Frosty grew up to be the best all-around pointing lab we have known. ABOVE ALL, he has the most stable, buoyant, and loving personality of any dog we have every owned.  This comes from both of his amazing parents.  He also is the ultimate example of our breeding program goal - extreme retrieve drive and love of water, big running drive, extremely strong natural point, and calmness in the house.  So many of the dogs with big drive are frankly too much to have in the house.  Frosty and both of his parents are/were amazingly calm/wonderful house dogs.

For those intereseted in producing extremely talented competition pups, two additional things are very notable about Frosty.  He is a "body scent" hunter, meaning he can trail effectively, but doesn't get bogged down in bird scent of running birds.  This is a huge advantage in hunting and upland hunt tests.  The second thing is that Frosty and the entire line out of Storm are incredibly stable. This was enhanced even further with the stability of CPR FC Zeiss.  That translates into dogs that perform as well or better at hunt tests.  All of this line of dogs sit quietly in the holding blind - heck Frosty and sister Dallas want petting in the waiting blind (why the heck waste the opportunity for loving), while many other dogs are going crazy.  Simply put, these dogs are "EASY" to hunt and campaign.
